It is fascinating to see the growing craze for entrepreneurship among high school students. It is absolutely mind-boggling to know that many high school students already have their startups running. The awareness of entrepreneurship among students is surprisingly high.
High school students today think ahead of their time and exhibit exceptional innovation. The benefits of venturing into entrepreneurship for students go far beyond the success of the startup.
Even a small entrepreneurial journey can do a world of good to students’ confidence, skills and experiential learning. There is so much for students to explore, learn and master when they embark on an entrepreneurial journey.
We can largely attribute this development to events and shows like the Shark Tank. The Shark Tank craze is gaining massive traction in India and inspiring millions of entrepreneurial dreams. As an organization committed to empowering students to become global leaders and future entrepreneurs, we wanted to build something along similar lines.
Capitalizing on that idea, we organized a Shark Tank simulation for high school students in collaboration with Deakin University. Students presented the most unique business ideas to the panel and engaged in worthwhile entrepreneurial deliberation.
Business negotiations took place just like they do in the real Shark Tank forum and the best ideas were rewarded. Each student genuinely felt that their entrepreneurial aptitude and agility had been empowered by this opportunity. In the course of their participation, students also improved their research, communication and presentation skills.
Through their business ideas laden with the finest details, students also focused on addressing global issues. It was amazing to see young and emerging entrepreneurs work so proficiently in crafting their business plans. The event turned out to be a huge success and the goal of empowering students was accomplished with distinction.
